Larry Setchell

At this stage of my career I have determined to return to my roots as a “Country Lawyer with City Skills”. I determined to become a lawyer when I was in the 8th grade, but not necessarily for good reasons. Back then I saw a legal career as embracing power, independence and a keen way to make a living. Now I know it’s all about service: as Will Rogers wisely wrote: “If you want to be successful, it’s just this simple. Know what you are doing. Love what you are doing. And believe in what you are doing.”

I know what I am doing. It’s that simple. I have extensive experience helping people and businesses handle and solve their legal challenges. I am adept at matters involving the structural, contractual, capitalization, environmental, IP and branding protection and risk management for businesses from their formation to their management succession, including wealth protection and estate planning for owners and their families. I specialize in conflict resolution, including litigation involving complex matters of utmost importance to clients in cases involving automotive and aviation products liability, business, environmental and securities disputes, and cases for families who have endured incidents of elder abuse, catastrophic injury and wrongful death due to conduct of others. I especially enjoy helping people and their families work their ways through what often can be a maze of legal principles fogging their vision for personal planning and success.

I love what I am doing. It’s that simple. I am fortunate and privileged to be a lawyer. I treasure the opportunity to help people and businesses achieve their dreams, and to help resolve conflicts for them which may be in the way of a more peaceful, better life.

I believe in what I am doing. It’s that simple. Law and Justice are not always the same. I get that. I believe that serving a client’s best interests are the highest calling of a lawyer. I am therefore not afraid to take on bullies in litigation or to advise a client to “just say no” to a bad business deal. Just as important is the belief that everyone is equal and entitled to the best of representation and service regardless of their heritage or beliefs. I am proud to represent a wide diversity of folks and believe they have made me better for having done so. I do not discriminate or judge: I listen, think and advise.
